What is Lightphrase?

Lightphrase is a desktop writing utility that rewrites selected text in place. Highlight in any editable field, press Win+Ctrl+R, sweep the wheel to retone, translate, summarize, fix grammar, or reply. Rewrites replace the selection where it sits; Reply copies a response and leaves the selection unchanged. Your clipboard is restored when a rewrite is done. Windows is available now; macOS and Linux are in development. It is free during early access for the first 1,000 accounts, with 1,000 rewrites a day per account.

Where does my text go?

Only the text you selected, and only when you pick an action. Tones, shortcuts and history never leave this computer. Read the privacy page for the full list.

Which apps does it work in?

Any editable field: email, chat, documents, code editors and browser forms. Lightphrase works through the clipboard, taking a snapshot before it copies and restoring it after it pastes, so nothing you had copied is lost.

What if I let go of the keys early?

The wheel stays open. Click a slice, press 1–5, or use the arrows and Enter. Escape, a click outside, or switching apps cancels and nothing changes. A wheel left open for 15 seconds closes itself.

Can I skip the wheel?

Yes. Win+Ctrl+Shift+R retones the selection with your active tone straight away. It is unavailable if the shortcut you chose already uses Shift.

Is Lightphrase free?

While it is in early access, yes. The first 1,000 accounts get in; after that there is a waitlist. Every account gets 1,000 rewrites a day, resetting every UTC day. Signing in once is what arms the shortcut.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows today, from the Microsoft Store. macOS and Linux builds are in development. Store updates install on their own.
